Summary:
The IMHC oncology associate director of marketing will be responsible for all payer-related marketing activities around PPD's Phase III and beyond oncology portfolio. Key responsibilities will be determine product value proposition and key messaging by payer channel, determination of appropriate health economics and outcomes data to support product value proposition, development and implementation of necessary patient assistance, co-pay assistance and charitable foundation by product/tumor type. Additionally, development of product specific pricing strategies to maximize product value across all tumor types is essential. Will need to function constructively in multi-disciplinary global work teams to maximize product/portfolio potential.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Lead IMHC Marketing contact responsible for developing and implementing payer marketing strategic and tactical planning for veliparib to ensure successful commercialization
  • Profile the current reimbursement environment for melanoma and how each payer channels manages this disease state, if at all
  • Create and implement the access strategy across all payer channels
  • Payer marketing lead on development of key pricing recommendation for veliparib and for evaluation of the contracting environment
  • Must look at anticipated dosing over all planned tumor types to maximize the value of the molecule over the LRP
  • Development of payer value proposition and messaging by key payer channel to optimize patient access and profitability
  • Focus on Medicare Part D, Commercial MCOs, VA, Medicaid and long term care pharmacy
  • Partner with sales training and CE&O teams to develop training to support veliparib across all existing and future indications for both IMHC sales and brand sales to ensure that all sales professional supporting veliparib have the necessary reimbursement expertise
  • Lead IMHC Marketing professional collaborating with Health Economics and Outcomes (HEOR) to ensure that the necessary studies/projects are completed to support the veliparib payer value proposition
  • Responsible for all payer-related market research to support veliparib/Abbott's Oncology franchise in partnership with GSMS
  • Develop and implement the patient access plan for veliparib including but not limited to co-pay assistance programs, patient assistance programs and not-for-profit charitable foundation assistance
  • Must incorporate all applicable federal and state legislation that impact patient OOP limits per year/per lifetime
  • Evaluate unmet payer/patient needs in melanoma and develop appropriate non-branded value added materials to support veliparib payer value proposition
  • Lead reimbursement contact for Public Affairs on all issues regarding payer/reimbursement issues with veliparib
  • Liaison with Global counterparts to ensure consistent payer/reimbursement strategy across all PPG affiliates

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree -- MBA/PharmD preferred
  • Payer/policy experience in oncology, with expertise in developing pricing and contracting strategies, branded payer specific messaging and value proposition, non-branded value added programming
  • 5+ years brand marketing and/or sales experience in pharmaceuticals with launch preparation experience
  • Ability to multitask on several projects
  • Strong analytical skills, including business and financial analysis
  • Positive and collaborative management style working with cross-functional teams to achieve business goals
  • Customer service and consulting skills with strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience managing people
