Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY: 
 
The Program Administrator will provide support to the Director of Program Development in the following areas: for scientific program development of meetings, conferences, and training workshops and provide support for committees.
 
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for working on three to four conferences and/or workshops per year, possibly more.
  • Coordinates grant applications for some conferences and workshops. 
  • Collaborates with Director of Program Development.
  • Communicates with Program Committee chairs and members.
  • Works with Program chairs to determine nature and scope of assigned programs.
  • Collaborates with the Meetings and Exhibits Department on the coordination of logistics and scheduling of assigned meetings.
  • Works with Marketing Department to create and develop promotional materials for assigned meetings.
  • Assists with activities related to conferences and workshops.
  • Assists Director of Program Development with committee responsibilities. 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors Degree required.
  • Advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Science background strongly preferred.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ program development and administration experience in the areas of scientific meetings, conferences and workshops.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel and attend one to two meetings per year.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of people, particularly scientists.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES & SPECIAL SKILLS

  • Ability to write grants for various conferences and workshops (grant applications and reports).
  • Microsoft Word proficiency.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
  • Experience in creating reports using Excel and Access databases.
