This job provides clinical, scientific, and strategic leadership for clinical development programs, owns clinical development strategy for assigned programs and leads the design, execution, and interpretation of clinical studies.
Denali is seeking a physician leader (MD or MD/PhD) with training in hematology/oncology (adult or pediatric) or neuro-oncology to provide clinical, scientific, and strategic leadership for oncology programs leveraging Denali’s Transport Vehicle (TV) platform.
Denali’s Transport Vehicle platform enables targeted delivery of therapeutics across biological barriers, creating new possibilities for treating cancers with limited therapeutic access, including tumors involving the central nervous system.
This individual will play a key role in advancing innovative therapies designed to address critical challenges in oncology, including drug delivery to the central nervous system and tumors with high unmet need. In addition to the focus in oncology, this role has the ability to grow across different therapeutic areas alongside our rapidly growing portfolio.
Key Accountabilities / Core Job Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and execution of clinical development strategies for oncology programs leveraging the Transport Vehicle platform
- Provide clinical and scientific leadership across study design, execution, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of early- and late-phase oncology trials
- Lead development of clinical protocols, amendments, investigator brochures, and clinical study reports
- Provide medical monitoring support, including evaluation of safety, pharmacology, and efficacy
- Partner cross-functionally with Translational Sciences, Clinical Pharmacology, Regulatory Affairs, and other functions to integrate biomarker and translational strategies
- Support clinical-regulatory strategy and interactions with health authorities
- Engage with external experts, investigators, and advisory boards in oncology and neuro-oncology
- Contribute to biomarker development, patient selection strategies, and innovative trial designs
- Prepare scientific communications, including presentations and publications
- Contribute to lifecycle planning and evaluation of new oncology development opportunities
- Leads one or more oncology clinical programs with accountability for program-level strategy, execution, and delivery
- Independently drives clinical trial activities while contributing to broader strategic discussions
- Applies clinical expertise in hematology/oncology or neuro-oncology to inform study design, endpoints, and patient selection
- Operates as a key clinical lead with increasing influence on program direction
Qualifications/Skills:
- MD or MD/PhD with board certification or eligibility in Hematology/Oncology (adult or pediatric) or Neuro-Oncology
- ~3+ years of clinical development experience in industry or equivalent clinical/academic research experience (e.g., fellowship/post-fellowship research, junior faculty)
- Strong scientific background in cancer biology, translational sciences or clinical trial design
- Demonstrated ability to lead program-level activities and collaborate effectively
Salary Range: $272,000.00 to $336,000.00 . Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
